Sorry for the extreme lack of posting over the past month. We have just bought our first house – Yay! but this has meant a busy month of decorating, christmas, birthdays and housewarmings to get out the way! On that note, I wanted to show you a few of the bits from the Great Gatsby 1920’s themed housewarming we held earlier this month.
The invite above I designed using photoshop with clipping masks and gold leaf to get the gold effect. I got them printed with StressFreePrint, that you can find here and they were brilliant quality. They come with envelopes too so if you need to post them you can. I had these printed in A5 and they were so good quality I was able to use them as mini-posters too!
We kept it minimal for decorations and just had black and gold balloons and bought black and gold paper plates, cups and napkins to finish everything off. But you can go crazy, print gangster signs, designate a speakeasy to make sure your 1920’s party is genuine!
We didn’t theme the food too much – I mean it’s ridiculously hard to find 1920s themed food! But we did have a couple of yummy desserts worth mentioning! For savoury we did a meat and cheese platter – we used Leerdammer cheese slices to make it easy. For the desserts I made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream icing. As an added extra we also served Jus Rol Cinnamon Swirls, which were amazingly easy to make and very moreish – not so good for the diet when we had a few leftovers the next day though!
Prosecco – enough said. 🙂 CHEERS!!
