A couple of week’s ago we celebrated 5 years of marriage. I say celebrated, what I mean was, I went to Britmums and hubby stayed at home and puppy sat. That’s marriage for you right there. So, as I’d promised him we’d celebrate at a later date I’ve booked us a city break in Birmingham for the last weekend in July.
Going away for a long weekend is an excellent way to spend your anniversary. It lets you some quality time together while seeing some amazing things all around the world. Here are some city trips to take with your partner for your anniversary that you will never forget (a little further afield than Birmingham!)
One city trip you can take with your partner for your anniversary is to the beautiful city of Paris. It’s the perfect place to go to celebrate the occasion as it’s the city of love. There are so many great things to look at including the Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. As we talked about before, the city’s art is also incredible, and you can visit the Louvre, which is home to infamous pieces such as the Mona Lisa. The great thing about going to Paris is it only takes a couple of hours by Eurostar, or you can even get a short flight to the city. Remember to visit the restaurants together and get a tonne of pictures so you can reminisce about the anniversary for years to come. We visited Paris many year’s ago – 1 day we’ll definitely go back!
New York, USA
Another city trip you should make with your partner for your anniversary is to the city that never sleeps which is New York. It’s a stunning city in America which has popular landmarks including the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building. A lot of people head there to visit the iconic Times Square to do some shopping and to watch a show. You can get to New York in just under eight hours from London Heathrow. Remember you need to get a Visa to travel to the city, even for a long weekend. As the UK is under the ESTA visa waivers program, you can hold of a visa for a slightly lower price.
Rome In Italy
You should also visit the city of Rome in Italy for a special anniversary trip. It’s a beautiful city where you can see sights such as The Colosseum and St Peter’s Basilica. You can also enjoy the delicious Italian food in the many restaurants in the city. You can also visit the Trevi fountain which is a romantic spot for you and your partner. Rome is only a couple of hours flight away, and if you fancy extending your trip, you could catch a train to Florence or Naples to explore Italy further.
If you don’t fancy travelling far for your city trip with your partner, you should consider going to the beautiful city of London. As this article reveals, London has a fantastic range of theatres, sports and restaurants which millions of people flock to. It also is full of famous landmarks including Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. You can also go on a river trip down the River Thames and enjoy a glass of champers with your other half.
Don’t rule out visiting the German city of Berlin too if you fancy a city break for your anniversary. There are so many things to see and do, and it’s only a couple of hours plane journey away.
As for Birmingham, I’ll update you after our trip!
