Getting Organised with Lord Dodo

I’m a very organised person and seeing shops preparing for Christmas and the New Year (yes even though it’s only September!!), I thought this year I would get a jump start on everyone as well, what did the girl guides say, always be prepared!

Every year I buy a diary to prep for the new year, I spend hours filling it in, putting all my import dates in and then when the new year hits, I either get bored of my diary or it’s just not suitable for my needs (basically my stationery obsession means I want a new one)!! This year I need help to make sure I get a diary that is best for me (and I won’t obsess over all the pretty ones in the shop by January 1st!!).

This year I thought I would finally try out a diary insert for my Filofax that I’ve been coveting for years made by Lord Dodo of Cornwall. My first impression of the insert was good, the brand itself is fun and easy going. I must admit although I love stationery and the idea behind Filofax I don’t really like the ‘professional’ feel to the normal diary inserts, they just seem so bland! After working for 3 years in a very high profile hotel, wearing a suit every day and working in the ‘poshest’ way, anything that makes my life a little bit more fun is appreciated!

This insert is different to all others that I have seen made by various companies in the past (I’ve seen quite a few as I don’t usually buy the Filofax ones as they can be pricy for an A5 insert).

Although it’s a week-to-view diary like most others on the market, it has 5 spaces to fill in on each day, which for me is really helpful, as G4L is always on different shifts so now I can separate my coding of early and lates into one box away from our social lives/appointments/my work and holidays. Or for a family you have a space for each person.

On each page their is also a ‘fun page’ so either a joke/doodle/lymeric…I haven’t read them all, that way I will get a fun new thing each week…there is also plenty of space to doodle when on the telephone (as per Lord Dodo’s instructions at the beginning of the insert!)

They have sections in the back too for next year, and reminders when the next years inserts are released so you can buy a new insert in plenty of time for next year!

I love this diary they’ve thought of everything, it’s fun and carefree, it’s suitable for all ages as well and comes in different sizes too. They even do a wedding planning book for all my Brides-to-Be available here and other products as well.

This diary is so good I don’t want to ruin it by writing in it!!! Maybe I’ll wait until I absolutely have to…with my birthday being January 4th I have to start asap!! I need a nice new pen though to write in it!! Anyone want me to review one??
