Ready For A Big Change? Think Home.

When it comes to updating your home, you don’t have to go all out if you don’t want to. Of course, there is nothing as lovely as having a home renovation and creating more space – in your space. Home renovations aren’t always cheap – but they are still worth it in the end. It is essential that if you wish to do a more substantial home improvement project that you work with a home renovation company – they’ll have the expertise that you may lack.

For the smaller projects, and changes though – here are some quick tips on how you can make significant changes, easily.

Textiles

Strangely enough, many people don’t think small enough when they are trying to change the look of a place. Instead, they head straight for the large furniture pieces. However, if you think smaller, like pillows and blankets – you might be surprised how big of a difference that can make. Accent colours to match the seasons mean that every few months you will have a new look and never get bored with the things you already own.

Paint

If you can’t stretch to redecorate your whole home or an entire room, then just think about an accent wall. If you aren’t really sure what colour to do, have a look at the decor you already have. There will be something in the room that you already really love, and you can draw inspiration from that. The key is to add a splash of colour that isn’t too overwhelming for the rest of the room.

Lighting

If you have standard bright bulbs in every room, it might be time to swap them for some more mood lighting instead. Using warmer bulbs in the evening can give a cozy feel to any room. And this is amplified in the winter too. If you love the bulbs you have, then a quick change of lampshade can direct the light in different ways – changing the look of the room without breaking the bank.

Gallery Wall

If you have children, then the chances are you already have a lot of art. Not only that, but you probably have a lot of photos that you want to display too. Pull some inspiration from gallery walls on Pinterest and spend some time sourcing frames from thrift shops and second-hand furniture stores to create something totally unique. A mix of photos, artwork, and even postcards look so lovely, and a huge impact can be made too.

Bigger

Looking. Hang a mirror opposite a window so that the light provided is amplified. It will reflect the natural light and actually look like you have another window making the room look and feel much more significant than it really is. This is particularly good for smaller rooms that don’t really have a lot of light.

Updating your space doesn’t have to take a lot of time or effort. And, technically speaking because you aren’t in a hurry you have as much time as you need to curate and create the exact look that you want to go for.
