Tools That Every Bread Addict Needs

We all love a bit of bread, so much so it can get quite addictive. The feeling of bread melting in your mouth before you swallow it all up is what I find most addictive. And I’ve found over my years of being a bread addict that there are many tools that I just cannot live without. The best thing about bread for me is how versatile it is. You can eat bread on its own or with cheese. You can even bake your own pizzas from home. Here are the tools that I find essential to settle my bread cravings.

Obviously, you need some equipment so you can go about baking your own bread at home. Here is a short list of the stuff I find essential.

  • Measuring cups and spoons,
  • Large mixing bowl,
  • Wooden spoon or dough whisk,
  • Baking sheets and bread pans,
  • Uuni Pizza Oven from Cuckooland,
  • Knives,
  • Grain mills,
  • Timer.

Tablet, Phone or Computer:

This may seem a bit random, but trust me. I use my range of devices for finding the best bread recipes online, and to order my shopping online. If there’s something that’s better than baking bread yourself at home, it has to be getting a man to deliver bread to your front door. Here are some top apps and websites that I use for all my bread craving needs.

The best thing about this website and the two apps is that they all offer something unique. BBC Good Food lets you save your favourite recipes and offers simple recipe guides. The best thing about Yummly is that allows you to keep ingredients to a shopping list so you know exactly what you need to buy. And the Food Network app lets you select recipes from your favourite chefs.

A notepad has to be one of the essential items needed when baking your own bread. It makes it as easy as 1,2,3 to write down the time you put your bread in the oven, what ingredients you need and what time to take the bread out of the oven etc. You can write everything down into your notebook and never forget the all important information again. You can even use your notepad to keep a track of what you’ve eaten. Try not to eat too much bread each day, sadly it isn’t healthy for you. That and cakes. Cakes are good too.

There you have it, the basic things that you need if you’re a bread addict. There’s nothing more pleasurable than baking your own bread and then eating it all like there’s no tomorrow. Get out your spatulas and start cooking. You’ll be thanking me later when you have a hell of a lot of bread on your hands to eat. Whether you’re baking a Pizza or baking a loaf of naan bread, have fun and enjoy it.
